Mona GeoInformatics GIS Training Schedule

Mona GeoInformatics Institute (MGI) is offering Introductory Geographic Information Systems (GIS) training at the Mona Informatix Ltd. facility, UWI. The course is geared towards making students more proficient in applying GIS to any field, including the environment, industry and business. Students are exposed to a variety of methods for visualizing, analyzing and simulating their environment, providing a spatial framework to support decisions for the intelligent use of the Earth’s’ resources. 
Classes begin November 12th, 2013 and end December 19th, 2013. 
Registration is currently taking place and will end on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013
List of Modules in Introductory Course:-
 (Total: 36 hrs over 6 weeks) 
- Introduction to ArcGis 10
- Cartography
- Manipulating data, Georeferencing & Digitizing.
- GPS Mapping
- Reprojecting & Plotting GPS data
- 2D & 3D Spatial Modeling & Analysis 
- GIS Project Concepts
- Data & Spatial Diagnostics
Classes are held Tuesdays and Thurdays over six weeks. Each training session lasts for 3 hours and with 2 sessions per week from 4:30-7:30 pm, totaling 36 hours for the entire course – all at a reasonable cost. 
The individual rate is reduced by 6% if a group of 5 registers. 
UWI students and staff receive 15% discount and this rate is further reduced if a group of 5 registers.

Application-specific courses can be customized for groups of at least 5 participants.
